This lecture will provide insights into the basics of esophagostomy tube management. Indications, contraindications, and case selection will be discussed. The formulation of a diet plan and how to prepare a slurried diet for the feeding tube will also be addressed. Finally, client communication and how to optimize owner compliance will be explored.

Jenna Manacki


Jenna Manacki grew up in Southern Ontario. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Guelph, receiving a bachelor’s degree in zoology with a concentration in nutrition. Dr. Manacki then moved to the beautiful island of St. Kitts to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical training at the University of Saskatchewan. After graduating, Manacki practiced in a busy small animal clinic in Phoenix for two years. She then moved back to the Toronto area to work in an emergency and primary care clinic. Her special interests include nutrition for patients with renal disease and critical care patients.
