What you'll learn

Australia is home to some of the world’s most venomous creatures – and the inquisitive nature of dogs and cats makes interactions and envenomation extremely common. This exciting 2-week course will present the latest in the diagnosis and clinical management of dogs and cats envenomed or poisoned by venomous and toxic animals in Australia. Focusing on the latest knowledge in the fields of snake envenomation and tick paralysis management, this course will also detail poisoning from toxic fish and toads as well – so you have all the information you need to manage your next envenomation patient as effectively as possible!
This week is all about snake envenomation – examining what we know, what we don’t know, and how to piece this information together to form a treatment plan that is effective, and scientifically based, so you can give your patients the best chance of survival!

This week is all about “T” – Toxicity with Toads, Tetrodotoxin and Ticks – evaluating the latest literature and treatment guidelines, to help establish sound treatment protocols that optimise patient treatment and chances of success!
