Synopsis: Gastrointestinal issues that cause chronic diarrhea in pets is often a source of anxiety for the pet owner … and the veterinarian. A rigorous diagnostic approach is ideal, but is not always realistic. In this presentation, we will review the new diagnostic and therapeutic avenues to help our clients see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Catherine Lapointe


Dr. Lapointe graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Montreal in 2002. Her training includes an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the DMV Veterinary Center (2003), a master's degree in feline nephrology and urology (2007), as well as as a residency in small animal internal medicine (2009), both at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. She received her board certification from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2009. Since 2016, she has held a Certificate of Achievement in Hemodialysis from the University of California, Davis. Dr. Lapointe worked as a clinician in the internal medicine department of the CHUV of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from 2009 to 2016, and she has been practicing mobile internal medicine since January 2017.
