Dr Williana Basuki

BVSc (Hons) MS MANZCVS DAVDC Board Certified in Veterinary Dentistry (Registered Specialist)

Dr. Will Basuki, a Board-Certified Veterinary Dentist (Diplomate, American Veterinary Dental College), is the first and only registered specialist in veterinary dentistry for small animals in Queensland.

Graduating with honors from the University of Queensland in 2010, Dr. Basuki initially practiced as a small animal general practitioner before joining 2 years of rotating and surgery internships in a private specialist and emergency veterinary hospital in Australia. She completed a 3-year residency in dentistry and oral surgery with a master’s degree at Colorado State University (USA). Following her full-time specialist training, Dr. Basuki became an adjunct Associate Professor at Tufts University (Massachusetts, USA) and started the veterinary dental specialist service at Tufts Veterinary Emergency Treatment and Specialties. She returned to Australia in 2020 to pioneer the only veterinary dental specialist service at a veterinary specialist hospital in QLD. In 2024, she founded an independent veterinary dental referral practice, Sabertooth Veterinary Dental Specialist. Dr. Basuki is a well-known conference speaker and regularly teaches dental workshops both nationally and internationally. She has been an examiner at the ANZCVS and an active committee member at the AVDC.
