VNCON 2026 is Vet Education's free Online Veterinary Nurse and Technician Conference, running 6 to 8 October 2026. The conference brings the global vet nursing community together for three days of clinically relevant education, shared ideas, connection and fun. VNCON 2026 includes six lectures covering nutrition, behaviour, exotic species and emergency care, alongside interactive activities.

How long has VNCON been running?

Vet Education held its first online conference in 2011, which makes VNCON the longest running online conference for veterinary nurses and technicians. VNCON has run every year since, and the community that has grown around it is a large part of why nurses and technicians come back.

Who is VNCON 2026 for?

VNCON 2026 is created specifically for veterinary nurses, veterinary technicians and veterinary technologists around the world. Nurses and technicians at every career stage are welcome, from new graduates to those with decades in practice. Veterinary nursing students are welcome too.

Who is speaking at VNCON 2026?

VNCON 2026 features five presenters delivering six lectures. Dr Delisa Appleton presents on feline obesity and on joint health. Maria Alomajan presents on canine behaviour. Dr Maeve Garde presents on nutrition and allergic skin disease. Iffy Glendinning presents on avian and exotic patients. Dr Philip Judge presents on emergency care.

What topics does VNCON 2026 cover?

VNCON 2026 covers six clinical areas relevant to daily practice: feline obesity and nurse-led weight clinics, canine behaviour, nutrition and allergic skin disease, avian and exotic patients, canine and feline joint health, and emergency care. Every lecture is chosen for immediate applicability in clinic rather than theory alone.

Is VNCON 2026 really free?

Yes, VNCON 2026 is completely free to attend. There is no registration fee, and you do not need to be a Vet Education member to take part. Every lecture, the recordings and the CPD certificate are included at no cost.

When is VNCON 2026, and what time are the lectures in my country?

VNCON 2026 takes place online on 6, 7 and 8 October 2026, with two lectures each day at 12:00 and 19:30 AEDT. The 12:00 AEDT lecture is 09:00 in Perth, 14:00 in New Zealand, 02:00 in the United Kingdom, 21:00 the previous evening on the US east coast and 18:00 the previous evening on the US west coast. The 19:30 AEDT lecture is 16:30 in Perth, 21:30 in New Zealand, 09:30 in the United Kingdom, 04:30 on the US east coast and 01:30 on the US west coast.

How do I register for VNCON 2026?

Registration for VNCON 2026 is free and takes a couple of minutes. Complete the registration form on this page using your own name and email address. Joining instructions and lecture links are then sent to that email address in the days before the conference.

Do I have to attend every VNCON lecture live?

No, you can join whichever VNCON 2026 lectures fit around your roster and other commitments. All six lectures are recorded, so nothing is missed if you cannot make a session live. Many attendees join two or three live and catch the rest afterwards.

Will VNCON 2026 recordings be available after the conference?

Yes, every VNCON 2026 lecture is recorded. Links to the recordings are shared with registered attendees a few days after the conference finishes, so you can watch at a time that suits your shift pattern.

How many CPD or CE points can I earn at VNCON 2026?

You can earn up to six CPD or CE points at VNCON 2026, one point for each of the six lectures. VNCON 2026 is RACE approved, which covers CE credit in the United States and Canada. Requirements differ between countries, states and registration bodies, so please check what your own registration body accepts.

Do VNCON points count towards AVNAT CPD requirements?

Yes, VNCON 2026 CPD points count towards AVNAT CPD requirements in Australia. Australian veterinary nurses and technicians registered under the AVNAT scheme can claim all six points.

How will I receive my VNCON 2026 CPD or CE certificate?

Information about claiming your VNCON 2026 certificate is sent to attendees after the conference. Please register using your own name and email address so your attendance and certificate are recorded correctly. Vet Education members who join through their Library have their completed hours recorded automatically in their Library dashboard.

I am a Vet Education member. Do I still need to register for VNCON 2026?

No, Vet Education members do not need to register separately for VNCON 2026. If you hold an individual membership, or have access through your practice, invitations to every VNCON lecture arrive automatically. You can also join each lecture directly from your Vet Education Library, and your hours are then recorded in your Library dashboard.

Does every member of our veterinary team need to register for VNCON 2026?

Yes, each team member should complete their own free VNCON 2026 registration if they are not already a Vet Education member. Individual registration means everyone receives their own lecture invitations, recording links and CPD or CE certificate. Vet Education members are covered automatically and do not need to register again.

What do I need to join VNCON 2026 online?

You need a reliable internet connection and a computer, tablet or mobile device. No software purchase is required. Access details and joining instructions are sent to the email address connected to your VNCON 2026 registration or your Vet Education membership.
